prolight+sound Shanghai may be smaller than it's neighbour Music China, but it's growing steadily and attracting some of the world's leading pro-audio and lighting companies into the fold. With over 130 exhibitors from 10 countries & regions - including China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Norway, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and the USA - the 2005 fair will show a good range of entertainment and AV equipment. Amongst the exhibitors are Roxland representing McCauley, Crest Audio, Pioneer and Shure; Zhejiang Harman AV Technology representing Realtronix - Australia, Sabine, DBX, CROWN, PAL, TAPCO, Mackie, JBL); Shenzhen Bao Ye Heng Industrial Development (representing C-Mark-USA); Beijing Baoma Engineering (representing Brahler-Germany); Penn-Elcom, Guangzhou (representing Penn-Elcom-UK); Digexplorer Audio Technology Shenzhen (representing Behringer-Germany); Telex EVI Audio (with brands Electro Voice, Dynacord, Midas, Klark Teknik, RTS, Telex), Kwanasia Electronics (representing Peavey); and Loud Technologies China (distributing EAW Commercial, Tapco, SIA, and Crate).
The 3rd Pioneer Cup DJ competition features twelve aspiring DJs who will be judged on their sound skills, music synthesis, accuracy and creativity on the mixing decks. The incentives are huge; winners will be awarded thousands of dollars worth of DJ mixing equipment from Pioneer. A DJ Forum, continuing the mixing theme at prolight+sound Shanghai, explores how DJ-ing as a profession has proliferated in China, and looks for ways to further develop and support the industry.
Music China is organised jointly by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., INTEX Shanghai Co. Ltd., and the China Music Instruments Association (CMIA).
