Musikmesse, International Trade Fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music
business connections, and Prolight + Sound, International fair of technologies and services for events, installation and production, will be held a rather early in 2014, from 12 to 15 March 2014.
On show at Musikmesse will be more than 30,000 musical instruments, from small bells to imposing grand pianos, as well as a vast range of accessories and everything revolving around the subject of music marketing and services for musical instruments and sheet music.
The layout at Musikmesse remains nearly unchanged: woodwind and brass instruments are in Hall 4.1, right next door to Hall 3. String instruments are to be found in Hall 3.1, in the immediate vicinity of sheet-music publishers and acoustic guitars. Also in Hall 3.1 are instruments for musical instruction: percussion and accessories. A small change has been made in the case of harmonica instruments, which are back in Hall 3.1.
Electric guitars and basses with accessories are located in Halls 4.0 and 3.0. The Musikbiz area and its exhibitors are in Hall 5.1 while the Musikbiz Lounge & Congress can be found in Hall 5.B. The world of pianos with upright and grand pianos
and historical keyboard instruments are in Forum 1 and Hall 5.0.
Prolight + Sound again occupies Halls 8, 9 and 11. Audio and sound-systems are located in Hall 8.0 while lighting, stage and AV media technology are in Hall 9.0. Sound systems and lighting with the emphasis on Asian manufacturers are to be found in Hall 9.1. Additionally, lighting and lighting effects are located in Hall 11.0. Publishers and associations are on Levels 0 and 1 of the Galleria. The outdoor exhibition area is the setting for live stages, such as the Concert Sound Arena, the Live Sound Arena and the exhibition area for mobile stages and tent systems. The Prolight + Sound Conference is held in Halls 9.T and 9.1. Eventplaza, the Trade Forum for Event Managers, is situated in the ‘Portalhaus’ building and in Hall 11.0 North.
In 2014 pro-music-news again is again contributing to Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) and Prolight + Sound International Press Award (PIPA). All nominees are listed here. Winners will be announced during the show.
