AKG D40 dynamic microphone

AKG launched its new D 40 stage microphone at Winter NAMM show 2008. Featuring AKG’s patented Varimotion diaphragm technology, the D 40 dynamic microphone is capable of being fine-tuned with no extra tuning resonators. With custom built capsule mounting, a spring steel wire-mesh grill and an all-metal body, the D 40 is a durable and reliable microphone solution for the active demands of live musicians. Additionally, the highly versatile D 40 comes equipped with an integrated stand adapter as well as a mounting bracket, making the unit easily adaptable for almost any instrument including drums, percussion, wind instruments and guitar amps.
Offering the latest advancements in microphone diaphragm technology, combined with a sturdy physical design, the D 40 stage microphone was designed with the live musician in mind,” explained Thomas Umbauer, Product Manager, AKG Acoustics. “The capsule is positioned right under the wire-mesh grill for the ultimate sound pressure levels and the rugged all-metal body provides the necessary durability required of on stage equipment.”
The D 40 was also highlighted at prolight+sound show 2008 in Frankfurt, Hall 8.
