Canadian company Yorkville Sound announced their acquisition of Applied Research & Technology in December 1999. ART, established in 1984, is a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of electronic equipment for the recording and live music industry. A R T has built a solid reputation for its product quality and design in both Professional Audio as well as the Musical Instrument markets. In recent years they focused efforts in the recording and live sound fields with their very successful Tube Dynamics products. These products are a hybrid of older vacuum tube and newer integrated circuit technologies.
With the new ownership, A R T will be able to invest in key areas of the business, which will stimulate production and sales as well as new product development. "This merger is a Win-Win situation for both companies," says Mark Fiammi General Manager of A R T.
A R T and its customers benefit immediately from this Acquisition. There will be continued service for all A R T products around the world including critical service provided to concert tours.
A R T will continue operations in Rochester at its existing location. There is virtually no transition. ''We could not have hoped for a better deal for our customers and employees. We keep our location, our people and most of our existing business ties,'' said Phil Betette, President of A R T.
Founded in 1963, Yorkville Sound has a long, solid reputation for quality and cost effective solutions in Professional Audio. Yorkville looks forward to the added strength and opportunities for growth as a result of this acquisition.
