"We are proud to introduce a new technology for digital
musical instruments," says Michiel Post, founder of Post
Musical Instruments. "This is the first piano that uses as
many samples for one note as other digital pianos for a whole
instrument. With over 5 gigabytes of stereo samples, no loops,
rich resonant pedal down samples, release-triggered soundboard
resonance, that varies over time, and a wide dynamic timbre it
comes down to hearing a true replica of the original Steinway
D instrument. Previous technologies typically use a maximum of
64 MB of RAM samples to reproduce all notes of a piano. All notes are derived from these source
samples leading to unwanted changes in the realism." Post musical Instruments offers 20 separate un-looped samples per key, 5 for each velocity, with different samples for the sustain pedal. Post Piano is the first to use "hard disk streaming" technology. Post Piano also offers high quality sample sets for harpsichords (French and Flemish), a virginal, fortepiano, several church organs, and other instruments. The instrument is equipped with a high quality active speaker system (stereo or surround sound mode), features a state of the art sequencer and full internet access.
