At Musikmesse Frankfurt 2003 Roland announced the F-100-BK digital piano, a new black-cabinet version of the F-100. This 88-note instrument offers grand piano sound and progressive hammer action in a compact cabinet. Twenty realistic tones are provided, along with onboard rhythms and a song recorder for practice.
The instrument includes a transparent acrylic music stand and removable keyboard cover designed to complement the black finish. Damper and soft pedals are also built into the stand.
Twenty tones are provided, including acoustic grand and electric piano, strings, choir and bass. The piano sounds are taken from Roland’s latest sample library and faithfully capture every nuance of an acoustic grand. Split presets are also included for playing different tones in the upper and lower register, while a Dual function allows tones to be layered. The instrument also features reverb and 64 voices of polyphony. A stereo Line input makes it possible to play along with CDs, while a the sound system reproduces all of the F-100-BK's sounds.
Connections include MIDI In and Out, stereo 1/4-inch outputs, dual headphone outputs (stereo mini-jack type), and stereo RCA inputs.
