At NAMM and Musikmesse Frankfurt 2001 Drum Workshop showed the latest addition of 4, 5 and 6x14" "Six-and-Six" drums to their line of Collector's Series all-maple snare drums. "Six-and-Six" refers to the shell configuration of a 6-ply shell with 6-ply reinforcing hoops.
According to DW vice-president, John Good, the Six-and-Six design creates a slightly warmer tone and lower pitch than DW's standard Ten-and-Six shell making it a good choice for many general purpose drumming applications while expanding the spectrum of available DW snare drum sounds.
The drums, which are available in any of DW's Finish Ply, Satin Oil or Lacquer finish options, feature a new Six-And-Six identification badge.

Aluminium models are available in sizes 5x13" and 5x14".
