Having
introduced new colors into the Meinl Percussion line, Meinl is now offering
its Fibercraft Congas in four finishes: True Blue, Fire Red, Jet Black
and Arctic White. The fiberglass shells are equipped with a traditional
tuning system, 4mm SSR-rims and select True Skin buffalo heads. While the
fiberglass shells are of course more resistant to weather conditions, the
sonic properties are impressive as well. Fibercraft Congas have a bright,
powerful sonic spectrum which cuts through amplified music in a way that
wooden shell congas cannot.
In
addition to the new finish offered on Meinl's Raker Series cymbals, a value
orientated bonus is included in the choice of hihats. The Raker hihats
are not only available in the traditional Medium Classic and Heavy Classic
varieties, but they are also produced in a Medium Soundwave and Heavy Soundwave
version. The design of the Soundwave bottom cymbal allows for a bright
and penetrating 'chick' sound which is produce due to the decreased air-lock
and reduced contact surface when the cymbals come together. Meinl offers
this feature in several sizes.
