Waldorf brings back legendary PPG Wave Synthesizer

The legendary PPG Wave Synthesizer is available again and far less expensive than it used to be in the 1980s: In 2010 it's a VST- or Audio Unit-Plug-in by Waldorf, who teamed up with PPG master mind Wolfgang Palm to not only recreate the legendary sounds but also moving them to the 21st century.
The new plug-in Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V provides emulation of the hardware PPG Wave Synthesizers versions 2.2 and 2.3 including digitally generated sounds with analogue filtering. Featuring the same highly intuitive surface with direct access to the most important parameters, the PPG Wave plug-in offers extended description of parameters and their names.
Depending on the power of the hosting DAW, Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V provides up to 256 voices using two wavetable oscillators offering a choice of sample reproduction with a resolution of up to 32 bit. You can load your own samples by drag&drop or using a file menu.
PPG Wave 3.V generates up to eight parts providing modes Poly, Dual, Quad and Mono (8 voices).
The PPG Wave 3.V is available from mid November 2010.
