TerraTec Producer announces Phase 88 Audio System providing professional audio and MIDI interface converting any Windows PC or MAC into a professional recording studio without requiring an external mixer.
Eight high-quality analog input and output converters process audio signals with resolutions up to 24 bits at 96 kHz. The Phase 88's converters are housed in a 5 1/4" module that can be installed inside the computer or placed outside. Based on proven TerraTec technology, Phase 88 supports simultanious recording of up to eight tracks and to play back high-resolution 5.1 or 7.1 Surround sound. Phase 88 comes with an on-board 20-channel hardware mixer with 36 bit internal resolution and 20/4 routing. Every input features a dedicated analogue stage that can be switched from -10 dBv to +4dBv as well as a preamp providing adjustable gain up to 18 dB. Channel thru monitoring generates zero latency. Latency introduced by the ASIO 2.0 driver is less than three ms.
An additional S/PDIF (coaxial) digital input/output on the PCI bus card provides connection to digital studio environment.
Up to four PHASE 88 recording systems can be synchronized and cascaded within a single computer allowing systems with up to 40 physical in- and outputs and 64 MIDI channels without adding to the CPU load.
PHASE 88 offers drivers for Windows 98/ME, 2000, XP (ASIO 2.0, DirectSound, MME with Multi-Client mode, and ASIO GSIF Multi-Client), Mac OS 9.1, and Mac OSX (ASIO 2.0).
