Mackie ships d.2 DJ mixer with firewire option

Originally launched at winter NAMM show 2005, Mackie's highly anticipated d.2 DJ mixer is available in late 2005. The d.2 aims at the professional DJ and features contact-free optical cross-fader and an optional Firewire card for recording and playback via computer. Mackie turntable and mic preamps and premium analog VCA circuitry throughout provide best quality, state-of-the-art audio converters and FireWire connectivity provide easy data exchange directly to/from Mac or PC.
The d.2 is the first mixer with an Infinium “contact-free” optical cross-fader without wearout. Customizable cross-fader tension and contour curve make it suit any DJ’s style. The d.2 features 48V phantom power on the microphone input for powering studio condenser microphones.
The d.Series FireWire I/O Card comes bundled with a full version of Mackie’s Tracktion 2 Music Production Software. The bundle also includes Mackie’s Final Mix CD Mastering Plug-in, the Mackie Dynamics Suite of plug-ins, plus full plug-in suites from Raw Material Software and Maxim Digital Audio.
