The famous tourist region around the Chiemsee is about to offer visitors a unique attraction on the Chiemsee lake stage. The musical biography of the Beatles, "All you need is Love..." is to be staged here again, beginning on July 5th 2001, telling the story of the Fab Four through more than 30 worldwide hits.
The lake stage, situated on the southern edge of the Chiemsee is the only open-air stage of its kind in Germany. The dramatic backdrop of the Chiemgau Alps, the seating area with more than 1 800 places, which extends right out into the lake, and the wonderful view of the stage floating on the lake, with the Herreninsel in the background, guarantee an atmosphere the visitor will never forget.
But it is the unforgettable songs of the Fab Four which form the centrepiece of the musical biography, including familiar classics as "Love me Do", "Help" and "Yesterday". The roles of the Beatles are taken by the American group "Twist and Shout", who can look back on numerous concerts given all over the world, including the show-biz metropolis Las Vegas. The musicians have already thrilled over 35.000 people on the Chiemsee lake stage, making "All you need is Love..." the most successful musical summer show of 2000. Live on stage, the band succeeds in recreating the music of Beatlemania in their original form, and they even look amazingly similar to the original musicians - their gestures and expressions are copied directly from the originals, right down to the last detail.
"All you need is Love..." tells the story of the most successful band in the history of pop music, moving within two acts through the different phases of their career, from their time in Hamburg to the outbreak of Beatlemania and up to their final concert. Short staged sequences depict the great and the lesser moments, and a presenter is there to lead the audience through the programme. Original film shots from the 1960s give the whole show the finishing touch.
The producer of this musical biography, "All you need is Love..." is Bernhard Kurz, who, in the 1980s, succeeded in opening up the musical market in Germany to musical hits as "Cats", "The Phantom of the Opera", and "Starlight Express".
