Peter La Placa (left) and Dave GuardalaRepresentatives from both Guardala Saxophones and the L.A. Sax Company have confirmed the recent signing of a long term global marketing agreement. The L.A. Sax Company will be the worldwide exclusive distributor for all Guardala model saxophones and mouthpieces as of January 1, 2000.
Peter LaPlaca, President and CEO of L.A. Sax had this to say: ''The special Guardala 'mystique' in design and sound represents a significant step towards establishing our position in the high end custom and professional saxophone market. We feel that Guardala products will add considerably to our market strength while synergizing our existing models within that unique niche in which we are firmly established with color and plated finished instruments.''
Guardala saxophones will continue to be produced in Germany to the same specifications originally established by its founder Dave Guardala in 1990. Factory set-up will be supervised by Guardala as his talented technicians return to the production of these professional saxophones. Service and final regulation will be supervised from Barrington, Illinois by the present skilled assembly staff responsible for L.A. Sax instruments.
Former Guardala Saxophone dealers and distributors are encouraged to contact the L.A. Sax Company about re-establishing their business relationship for Guardala products. Every effort will be made to establish a priority position for previously authorized Guardala dealers who want to continue on with Guardala saxophones in their business. New dealer inquiries are also encouraged by mail, fax, email or reviewing the entire line at NAMM in February.
