John Good and Billy WardFive-Star Drumshops announce the dates and locations for an exclusive series of drum seminars featuring Drum Workshop drum designer John Good and internationally- renowned drum artist Billy Ward. Scheduled to kick-off in Tampa, Florida on September 12th, the "Spectrum Of Sound" tour includes stops at 16 of the top drum shops in the United States.

"Due to his incredibly busy schedule at DW, we are tremendously excited that John Good has agreed to take the time to visit our shops," comments Five-Star spokesman Jim Rupp. "This is the first- and possibly only- time that John will be available in this capacity."

Good, who began working with Drum Workshop founder Don Lombardi in 1972, is currently Vice-President and Head Of Operations at DW. Before joining DW he was a drummer as well as a drum technician for such noted professional drummers as Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa), Jonathan Moffett (The Jacksons) and Freddie White (Earth, Wind & Fire). Over the past three decades he has been responsible for the development of numerous innovations in both the design and intricate manufacture of DW's custom-quality Collector's Series Drums- from the types of woods used in shell construction to the types of hardware used in final assembly. John's clinic presentation will include discussions and demonstrations of DW's proportionate-ply, reinforced, all-maple shell design, Timbre-Match preselection process, True-Pitch tuning system, Coated/Clear drumheads, Woofer bass drum tone enhancer and FinishPly, Stain Oil, Lacquer and Exotic finishes plus the full spectrum of DW snare drums, pedals and hardware.

Joining Good will be DW Drum Artist Billy Ward. One of the world's top drummers in his own right, Ward has performed with Richard Marx, Carly Simon and Joan Osborne. He was also a featured performer at the 2000 Modern Drummer Drum Festival where his unique form of progressive and eclectic drumming received standing ovations and rave reviews.
