D.A.S. expands its series of line array systems

At prolight+sound show 2005 Spanish manufacturer D.A.S. unveiled its latest addition to the Aero series of line arrays using a different driver design with extended voice coils and reduced diaphragm diameters.
The Aero 38 is a highly efficient 3-way line array module which incorporates two 12" low frequency units with 4" voice coils, two 10" mid-range devices which utilize 3" voice coils and one compression driver with 4" coil. The compression driver is coupled to the Serpis high frequency plane wave adaptor insuring coherent high frequency summing and the generation of a flat, isophasic wave front. All components incorporate neodymium magnet units.
The Aero 38 is designed for applications requiring high sound pressure levels and control of the vertical coverage such as mid to largescale outdoor/indoor events in arenas, stadiums or theaters. The Aero 38 can be used as a stand-alone, full-range system thanks to its wide frequency response ranging from 60 Hz to 18 kHz. When increased bandwidth in the low frequency range is required, subwoofer units such as the Aero 218Sub for ground stacked applications or the flown Aero 182 can be added.
D.A.S. offers passive and self-powered units of the new Aero models.
