Peavey upgrades its CS series of power amplifiers

At winter 2005 Namm, Peavey introduced six redesigned CS Series power amplifiers, the two-channel CS 1400, CS 2000, CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ, plus the four-channel CS 800x4.
Over the years, the CS amps have benefited from some of Peavey's most popular audio innovations, including DDT compression/anti-clipping protection. With its 2RU design and power points up to 4080 Watts, the CS models include 14 power transistors per channel on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080. The four-channel CS 800x4 utilizes wire-bonded hybrid technology, while the CS 1400 and CS 2000 are built with overgrown heat sinks for more efficient tunnel cooling. All CS power amps include toroidal power transistors for lighter weight and increased power.
The front panel display includes LED indicators for signal presence and DDT active, as well as individual power LEDs that extinguish under fault conditions. CS amps also feature circuitry to protect against shorts, improper loads, abrupt turn-on levels, high temperatures, DC and subsonic frequencies that could damage loudspeakers. Two dual-speed cooling fans on the CS 1400 and CS 2000, two variable-speed cooling fans on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ and one variable-speed cooling fan on the CS 800x4 provide reliability. CS amps ship with XLR-1/4" combination inputs; binding post, Speakon and IEC mains connector outputs.
