Legendary MT technology returns with EV's Phoenix series

At winter Namm show 2006 Electro-Voice previewed a new speaker range to an exclusive bunch of customers. At prolight+sound in Frankfurt, Germany, the company reintroduced the legendary Manifold Technology (MT) of the 80s with the launch of the Phoenix range of sound reinforcement systems providing all the features that made the MT series famous plus an update to this millenium's technology.
Manifold Technology features the coherent coupling of multiple drivers mounted to rotable horns which in the 80s set new standards of acoustic output. The Phoenix Series takes that proven principle to the next level using a pair of 2“ND2 Neodymium diaphragm drivers in all of the series’ tops and monitors.
The Phoenix family has been designed for high power events incorporating two tops (2x12“/2x2“ and 2x15“/2x2“) and two monitor types (12“ 2-way und 15“ 2-way) which are also suitable for applications such as FOH and fills due to their sophisticated cabinet design. Rock solid low end base is delivered by 1x18“ and 2x18“ hornloaded subwoofers and a direct radiating 3x15“ unit. All woofers of the Phoenix series are equipped with EV’s new DVX series drivers and have been optimized for high acoustic output, long term reliability and minimum THD.
