Crest Performance from Crest Audio took the opportunity of PLASA 2007 to announce that the flagship model of the CPX range of high performance, high specification, and competitively priced power amplifiers, the CPX 3800 is in stock and shipping.
Delivering 2650W per channel into 8 Ohms bridged and 1300W per channel into 4 Ohms stereo, the dual-channel CPX 3800 comes with built-in 100Hz subwoofer crossovers, switchable 40Hz low-cut filters to prevent woofer cone flutter, two-speed heat-sensitive fan cooling, Speakon output connectors and more. The icing on the cake is the inclusion of Crest Audio's patented GCL Gain Comparator Limiting system for maximum output with no audible distortion, as well as Crest Audio's IGM impedance-sensing circuitry, which allows for safe full-power operation into loads as low as two ohms. Another Crest Audio feature built into this amp is AutoRamp signal control, which raises the level gradually after output relay closure, typically after ramp-up or after coming out of protect mode, thus preventing abrupt turn-on level. Tunnel-cooled heatsinks and variable-speed DC fans maintain lower overall operating temperatures and extend amplifier life. |
