Sennheiser introduces highly versatile wireless, powered loudspeaker

At ISE 2013, Amsterdam, Sennheiser unveiled the wireless LSP 500 PRO PA system which was designed to make setting up sound reinforcement applications a breeze. Every LSP 500 can be operated by a pair of on-board rechargables batteries (type NP-1) which provide up to seven hours of reliable audio power. The secondary on-board battery stands by and can take over seamlessly while the other one is removed for charging. Sennheiser provides an iOS app for tablet which can remotely control up to 20 LSP 500 units. Each Sennheiser LSP 500 PRO can take up to three receivers for wireless microphones, and each also has a combined socket for a 6.3 mm jack plug and an XLR-3 connector for using a wired microphone. The versatile active loudspeaker also features USB connectivity and a Bluetooth interface as well as an auxiliary input and output. If more than one loudspeaker is being used, one can be defined master to control the rest wirelessly.
The LSP 500 PRO features a music player that can play music using USB or the Bluetooth interface. The music player also has a convenient recording function which allows audio input to be recorded directly to a USB device.
The LSP 500 PRO app basically provides a mixing console. The app controls volumes, the equalizers or delays. Configurations can be set either for individual speakers or for groups of speakers and for the connected audio sources. “The app is a genuine labour-saving device for setting up PA systems at an event,” explained Martin Gurtner, Portfolio Manager at Sennheiser’s Integrated Systems Division. “This user-friendly and efficient application makes the Sennheiser LSP 500 PRO the ideal partner for events of all sizes, such as congresses, galas or press conferences.” An Android app is also being developed.
The LSP 500 PRO is compatible with microphones from Sennheiser’s evolution wireless 100, 300 and 500 series. The speaker comes with a dust cover. A white stretch cover, a padded rugged cover and a trolley bag for secure transportation are optionally available.
The LSP 500 PRO loudspeaker was also highlighted at Prolight + Sound Show 2013 in Frankfurt. Sennheiser takes the LSP 500 PRO to InfoComm 2013, Orlando, FL, booth #501.
Product starts shipping in summer 2013.
