Martin Professional has hired Gorm Teichert as international sales director for the expanding architectural segment. Gorm began in the newly created position the first of November and is based at the Martin headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.
Gorm, a 39-year-old Dane, comes to Martin from a position as managing director for German architectural lighting company Erco. An eleven-year veteran of the lighting industry, he has been based in England with Erco the past several years.
President and CEO of Martin Professional Kristian Kolding commented, "With his extensive knowledge of architectural lighting, Gorm will be the driving force behind our continued expansion into the architectural lighting market."
Martin has placed increasing emphasis on the indoor and outdoor architectural lighting market over the past two years, launching a range of dedicated architectural luminaries such as the Exterior line of fixtures, as well as indoor color changers and fiber sources.
Working intensively to integrate lighting fixtures into architectural designs, Gorm uses both architects and customers as sparring partners. He has been involved in high profile lighting projects in both England and Denmark and has been praised for having an architect's relationship to lighting.
