Gefen introduces video solutions at InfoComm 2008 in Las Vegas

Gefen will introduce video and audio solutions at InfoComm 2008, Las Vegas, Booth C1740, the GefenTV Home Theater Scaler and a USB to DVI Graphics Adapter.
Gefen Home Theatre Scaler When high end video processing is required in the studio or in the field, Gefen offers a portable new solution that makes video scaling simple. The GefenTV Home Theater Scaler Pro delivers an easy, high quality method of achieving a true high definition output using standard and high definition sources, and is compatible with set-top boxes, gaming consoles and DVD players to enable true 1080p performance.
The GefenTV Home Theater Scaler Pro includes a high-end Realta chipset from Silicon Optix that features HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) options in addition to multiple features for high quality video refinements. These include: HDMI v1.3 10-bit color support, deinterlacing, adaptive noise reduction, detail enhancements, lip sync, film cadence detection and support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The scaler also performs double duty as a switcher that accepts component, HDMI and DVI inputs and converts each signal to the HDMI v1.3 format before outputting the video along with digital audio mirrored in TOSlink and S/PDIF formats. Users can switch between sources using the scaler’s IR remote or the RS-232 connection. Once selected, each video signal may be scaled up to 1080p full HD before being delivered to any HDMI display or projector to enable the most vibrant imagery possible.
A new USB to DVI Graphics Adapter from Gefen offers a handy way to connect additional displays to cross-platform Windows and Mac OS X computer systems. The small adapter allows a direct connection of a DVI display to any USB 2.0 port so you can add digital video displays or projectors to your laptop and personal computer for simultaneous video delivery without needing a DVI port. Output video is delivered in the DVI-I format, allowing for either VGA or DVI display compatibility.
The USB to DVI Graphics Adapter enables users to tweak their video performance, offering a variety of screen resolutions up to 1600x1200. These built-in features ensure video performance is of a similar quality as the main display connected through the DVI port.
Users also have the option of having the USB connected display mirror the main display or extend the desktop to provide increased visibility and the ability to view several applications at the same time in a multiple display situation. Testing has shown that up to six USB to DVI Graphics Adapters can be connected to any one personal computer with a reliable delivery of video to all six displays.
