AT2020 large diaphragm condenser microphone at a competitive price point

Launched at winter Namm show 2005 in Anaheim, the Audio-Technica 2000 Series UHF True Diversity Wireless Microphone System was showing in Europe for the first time at prolight+sound 2005. With a fully professional specification, the 2000 Series uniquely offers many of the advanced technologies and features of A-T's high end wireless systems at a highly competitive price point. Easy set up and automatic frequency scanning facilities combine with up to 10-channel frequency-agile operation, for high quality, interference free performance. The Audio-Technica AT2020 is a high quality studio condenser microphone, that introduces Audio-Technica's engineering quality at a highly competitive price point. The side firing, fixed cardioid, proprietary design, features a custom engineered, low mass diaphragm, that provides extended frequency response and high SPL handling. Incorporating the reliability of Audio-Technica's modern engineering and manufacturing expertise, the AT2020 features a rugged design and excellent performance specifications, including an extended, flat frequency response from 20 - 20,000 kHz, a wide (124 dB) dynamic range, low distortion and 144 dB SPL handling capability. Supplied with a pivoting, threaded stand mount, for precise and secure positioning, and a soft protective carrying pouch, the AT2020 is 162 mm (6.38 inches ) long and 52 mm (2.05 inches ) in diameter and weighs 345 g (12.1 oz). Output from the 48 v phantom powered microphone is via a low impedance, 3-pin XLRM-type connector. Also launched in Europe at prolight+sound was the Audio-Technica AT892 MicroSet omnidirectional condenser headworn mic. This combines maximum audio quality, minimum visibility, and a unique, comfortable under-ear design that delivers accurate sound in a tiny package, the condenser capsule having a diameter of just 2.5 mm.
