Outline introduces self-powered DVS cabinets
||Presented by Outline at prolight+sound 2010, Frankfurt, Germany, the latest versions of the DVS 8 SP and DVS 10 SP enclosures will be on show at InfoComm 2010, Las Vegas, Booth C7897. Butterfly, Mantas and Mini-COM.P.A.S.S will also be on show in Vegas.
The self-powered, compact and light-weight systems are designed for multi-purpose applications, particularly for live events. The most recent models introduce a range of upgrades improving sonic quality and enhancing ergonomic lines and ease of use. All models of the DVS range are also available in non-amplified versions including on-board passive crossovers.
DVS 8 SP features an eight-inch mid-woofer combined with a compression driver with one-inch diaphragm to deliver a sound pressure level of 123 dB (peak @ 1 metre). DVS 10 SP is fitted with a ten-inch woofer combined with a compression driver with a 1.75-inch diaphragm achieving a maximum sound pressure level of 127.5 dB (1m).
Signal management is handled by a 24 bit DSP providing four (selectable) presets.
Using cutting edge molding technology, Outline managed to reduce weight while maintaining rigidity: Located at the rear, the amplification module's panel is formed by numerous small aluminium pyramids which provide a high heat dissipation capacity and also add a distinctive look.
The shape of the cabinets in the new DVS series enables them to be used as floor monitors on stage with possible angles of 25° or 45°. Further features include ergonomically designed handles for perfect balance and flying points with M8 metric threads.
